We made a beautiful boat trip with the Talisman of West Terschelling to the Noorder Gronden (North Grounds). There are always grey and common seals on the sandbanks.

Transport

Walking
You can and you may walk everywhere (= oerol in the local dialect). Staatsbosbeheer (the Forestry Commission) has signposted many new footpaths. They are described in the book "Wandelen op Terschelling” (only in Dutch I’m afraid) that can be bought at the tourist office (VVV) and several shops on the island for € 7.50.
Excursions with Staatsbosbeheer
Bosplaatexcursion. 2-hour discoveries hike on the European Nature Reserve the Bosplaat.
Visit the decoy. You get comprehensive information about the Hoorner decoy. How ducks were caught and what wild plants grow there.
